It’s almost Halloween. All Saints Day. All Soul’s Day. Day of the Dead…
Does one say, “Happy Halloween”?
Or perhaps, “Happy haunting!”
I’m mostly saying, “Hurray!”
Hurray? On Halloween? Hunh?
Yes, I have some good news to pass along.
A Doodler’s Field Guide
A revised and expanded edition of our doodler’s guide to Essex, New York architecture is almost available for purchase. Print proof should be arriving any day for review. Fingers crossed that it’s ready to perfect and ready to print. I’ve mentioned elsewhere that the title has been changed from Doodle Essex, New York Architecture to Essex, New York Architecture: A Doodler’s Field Guide. Hope that helps rather than hinders. Time will tell.
New Guts
The interior has been painstakingly redesigned by Saravanan Ponnaiyan. We’ve really, really put him through his paces over the last few months. He’s an InDesign rockstar, and his vision for the book totally transformed the clunky beta into an inviting, user-friendly activity book. The feeling is lighter, easier to read, and there’s so much more space for inline doodling. Now were challenging him with transforming the print book into the perfect ebook which requires lots of rethinking and redesigning. But he’s a perfect match for the challenge. We can’t wait to see what he comes up with!
New Facelift Too
And we totally changed the book cover from the beta edition. (I’ll share a cover shot as soon.) From black and white baaasic to fun and creative color. It’s still carefree and casual, sort of like a much loved and doodled notebook. But much better packaging. Kudos to Rebecca Swift for her cover design. Brava!
Glory, Ghosts and Goblins
It’s a time for haunting, but I’m halloo-ing. Hurray-ing! This is a time for celebrating, so gather round, ghosts and goblins. Time to party!
